Went to the very famous crab place in Ang Mo Kio with PA & gang. After the very satisfying experience last year, we decided to indulge ourselves again... This time, at the "Original" stall.
(P.S.: We went to the so-called "branch" of this crab place during our last crab fest, just opposite the "Original" stall. The "branch" was reportedly opened by the brother-in-law of the Original's boss and many claimed that standard of food at the Original is much higher)

7:30pm.
We were supposed to meet at 7pm. Still, I was the earliest to arrive and naturally, I joined the queue to get a table. The queue was awfully long... and the waitress told us we had to wait at least one hour for the crabs.
More than one hour?? That's a bit too much for the hungry me, but nonetheless I waited - anyway the rest were not here yet.

To make matter worse, someone has to cut queue and irritate me - a hungry gal is an angry gal, she should count herself unlucky to meet me at that moment.
(Background info: there were two queues, one for those who made prior reservation, another for walk-in customers. I was the first in queue at the walk-in line)
Me: Excuse me, are you looking for the end of the queue?

Somebody: Oh, I was queueing up at the next line, but the line didn't seem to move at all! So I come to this queue and take a look loh."
Me: (thinking: duh, what lousy excuse) Duh, please queue up. Did you make any reservation?"
Somebody: "I don't know, that queue didn't move wad, so I come here loh."
Waitress: Miss, have you made your order?
Somebody: I need a table for 4....
Me: Eh, you didn't queue up, please go to the back and join the queue.
That lady: But the queue I was at didn't move!
Me: Did you make any reservation? I bet you didn't. In this case go to the back and queue.
That lady: errrr....
Me: You didn't make any reservation rite. Go to the back of this line, queue up and do not stand in front of me! This is not the place for you.
(Waitress was kinda stunted)
Me: I hope I wasn't too fierce?
Waitress: It's ok. These people deserve such treatment. I'm sorry, I thought she is your friend and I almost took her order instead of yours. Sorry...
Finally, I got my table for 8, the rest joined in one by one, with PA being the last, as usual. PA, seems like you can't shake of the Curse of Butter Crab! Next time, please don't let JN know you are going for crab.... shhhhhhh....
The taste was just ok imho and the heavenly feeling of our last crab fest was just not there. Maybe our expectation was too high? I don't know, but really I think it could have been much better.
Still, I enjoyed this outing a great deal. No matter how the food is, good company is the most important thing in any outings. Hope to meet up with you guys soon!!
(P.S.: Some tips for the crab lovers who want to visit this legendary stall. Do not go there at normally dinner time, say 6 to 7pm. The queue is very long and you really gotta wait ~1.5 hours to get your crabs. Arrive late, like us. If you order at 8pm, the waiting time for crabs will be much shortened to less than half an hour.Besides, it may not be that bad an idea to visit the "Branch" - it is less crowded, more peaceful, waiting time is shorter and crabs are equally delicious, if not better.)
